Terms and conditions of use
Updated on: 23.09.2026
By accessing or using the Mothercore platform including booking a session or purchasing self-guided content — you agree to these Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before continuing.
1. Overview of Services
Mothercore is a digital health platform connecting users with qualified women’s health physiotherapists. The platform provides:
- Online 1:1 physiotherapy sessions, delivered by video (see Section 3A)
2. Emergency Use Disclaimer
Mothercore is not a suitable service for any urgent help. You must not book a session if you experience any of the following:
- Unexplained vaginal bleeding
- Unusual or concerning vaginal discharge
- Sudden or worsening vaginal bulge or heaviness
- Recent pelvic surgery with complications
We advise that:
- For emergencies (heavy bleeding, severe pain), you should call 999.
- For urgent concerns, you should call 111 or contact your GP.
3. Therapist Independence and Scope
All therapists on the Mothercore platform are independent professionals:
They operate under their own licensure, qualifications, and regulatory guidelines.
Mothercore does not supervise, direct, or control the conduct of therapists.
Therapists are responsible for delivering services within the scope of their own practice.
Therapists operate independently and are not employees or agents of Mothercore. Mothercore is not responsible for any clinical decisions or the professional conduct of individual therapists.
Mothercore cannot guarantee any outcome and is not liable for any loss, harm, or dissatisfaction from therapist interactions.
We encourage users to verify the therapist’s credentials before engaging in services.
3A. Virtual Consultations: Format, Scope and Your Agreement
(a) Consultation format. All 1:1 physiotherapy sessions take place by video. We do not offer telephone consultations. Before your assessment begins, your physiotherapist will confirm the video format with you and check that your connection, camera and audio are working well enough for the session to go ahead.
(b) What a virtual assessment can include. A virtual assessment may include a detailed discussion of your symptoms, medical, obstetric and lifestyle history; observation of posture, breathing and movement; verbally guided self-assessment exercises, which you may choose to carry out or decline; education and advice; a personalised exercise and management plan; and, where appropriate, advice on onward referral to your GP or another healthcare professional.
(c) What a virtual assessment cannot include. A virtual assessment does not include a physical examination. Your physiotherapist cannot carry out an internal (vaginal or rectal) examination, hands-on palpation, or any other assessment that requires in-person contact or clinical equipment. As a result, some conditions cannot be fully assessed or excluded remotely, and findings may be less complete than those from an in-person assessment.
(d) Evidence for remotely delivered treatment. Pelvic floor muscle training (PFMT) is a well-established, evidence-based treatment for many pelvic floor conditions. Most of that evidence comes from programmes supervised face to face. The research on delivering PFMT fully remotely, by video or digital tools, is growing but less mature. Your physiotherapist will discuss with you whether remote care is appropriate for your needs, and will advise if an in-person assessment or treatment would be more suitable.
(e) Your agreement to proceed. At the start of your assessment, your physiotherapist will explain these limitations and ask you to confirm that you are content to proceed without a physical examination. Your assessment will only go ahead once you have confirmed this. You may withdraw this agreement or end the session at any time.
(f) When a virtual consultation is not suitable. If, before or during your consultation, your physiotherapist considers that your needs cannot be safely or adequately assessed remotely, they will tell you and recommend an appropriate next step. This may include an in-person pelvic health physiotherapy assessment or a review by your GP.
(g) Technical issues. If the video connection is too poor for the session to continue safely or effectively, your physiotherapist may end or reschedule it. [Insert your policy on whether this is rebooked free of charge.]
(h) Privacy during your session. You are responsible for joining from a private space where you are comfortable discussing intimate health matters. You will never be required to undress, and you may turn your camera off for any part of the session you are not comfortable with.
4. Exercise Videos and Resources Shared by Your Physiotherapist
Mothercore does not currently offer standalone self-guided programmes. As part of your care, your physiotherapist may send you links to exercise videos, written guidance or other resources to support the plan agreed in your session.
(a) Personal to you. These resources are selected for you based on your assessment. They are intended to be used as your physiotherapist has advised, including any guidance on how often to do them, how many repetitions, and when to stop. They may not be suitable for anyone else, and you should not share them on that basis.
(b) Stopping and seeking advice. Stop an exercise and contact your physiotherapist if it causes pain, discomfort, leaking, heaviness or bulging, or any other symptom that concerns you. If your symptoms change significantly, or you experience any of the symptoms listed in Section 2, stop and seek medical advice as set out there.
(c) Keeping your physiotherapist informed. Tell your physiotherapist about any change in your health, pregnancy status or medication before continuing with exercises they have recommended.
(d) Third-party content. Some links may direct you to videos or resources hosted by third parties. Your physiotherapist shares these because the content is relevant to your plan. Mothercore does not control third-party websites and is not responsible for their availability, advertising or privacy practices.
By using this content, you acknowledge:
You are responsible for ensuring the content is appropriate for your health.
You are advised to consult a GP or healthcare professional before beginning.
Mothercore is not liable for any injury, complications, or adverse outcomes.

Cancellation Policy: If you need to cancel or reschedule, please do so more than 24 hours before your appointment. Cancellations made within 24 hours of a scheduled session will be charged in full, as the appointment slot cannot be reallocated at short notice. Late cancellations and no-shows are non-refundable.
Follow-Up Sessions: If your physiotherapist recommends a follow-up session during your initial consultation, payment must be made within 24 hours of receiving the payment link to secure your booking. Slots not paid within this window will be automatically released.

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of England and Wales.
15. International Clients and Cross-Border Services
Mothercore's physiotherapists are registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (CSP), which are UK regulatory and professional bodies. HCPC registration is a UK statutory requirement and does not confer regulatory standing or recognition in any other jurisdiction.
If you are accessing Mothercore's services from outside the United Kingdom, please be aware of the following before booking:
(a) Regulatory framework. Sessions are delivered by physiotherapists regulated under UK law. The HCPC's jurisdiction, standards, and complaints processes apply to the therapist as a UK practitioner and do not extend to, or necessarily carry recognition by, the regulatory authority of the country from which you are connecting.
(b) Local legal position. Receipt of virtual physiotherapy from a UK-registered professional may be subject to restrictions in your country of residence or location at the time of the session. It is your responsibility to verify that accessing these services is lawful in your jurisdiction before booking.
(c) Regulatory recourse. Concerns about a therapist's conduct should be directed to the HCPC (www.hcpc-uk.org) or to Mothercore at info@mothercore.co.uk. No equivalent local regulatory protection may be available to you in your country.
By booking a session from outside the United Kingdom, you confirm that you have read this notice and take responsibility for verifying the lawfulness of accessing these services from your location.
16. Regulatory Status
Mothercore Ltd is not regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) or any other healthcare regulatory body. Our role is to facilitate access to independent physiotherapists and provide general wellness content. All therapists are individually responsible for compliance with their own professional regulatory requirements.
